Guiding in the Peace Park

HIP is a group of volunteer guides and interpreters based in Hiroshima. It was established in 1984 and has 200 members today.

Our members guide foreigners in English, who want to learn the fact of the atomic bombing, in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Guiding in the park takes approximately 1.5 hours.

I recommend you to visit the Peace Memorial Museum before touring in the park to get the information about the A-bomb. All of the exhibition articles in the Museum have descriptions in English, so you can see them at your own pace. It usually takes about 1 hour.

We request our guests small charges:

– Donation to HIP: 1,000 yen / arrangement
– Transportation fee for volunteers: 1,000 yen / volunteer

If you have one guide from us, total charge will be 2,000 yen, which consists of 1,000 yen for donation and 1,000 yen for transportation. Sometimes assistant guides may attend, but you do not have to pay their transportation.

We announce a guiding request to our members after we receive your request form. When we have one or more applicants before the deadline, we officially accept your request.

Usually, application date by guest and answering deadline by HIP should be more than 10 days before a guided tour. If the interval is less then 10 days, it is less likely for us to find a guide for you.

If you are interested, please fill in the following request form and send us back.
